A three tier secretaire. The lower part with several drawers on each side. The middle side retracts downward to reveal a writing slope and drawers and compartments for inkwell. Above another tier with many hinged doors with stacks of drawers behind them. All beautifully decorated in shibayama with blooming peonies, courtly scenes and landscapes and accented with decorative brass fittings.
