The backplate cast, embossed and hammered with floral and geometric motifs and two crests, topped with open scrollwork and crest, fronted by a row of oil pans, raised on two ball feet. Servant light attached to backplate and the other missing. Probably a special order by a prominent Italian family. Apparently unmarked.
