The massive rectangular backplate is composed of two silver sheets – the front sheet is repoussed, chased and engraved with a flaming urn flanked by two winged griffins, below a gallery of 8 columns corresponding to the front row of 8 oil fonts with wick spouts, set on a platform raised on four ball supports. All parts marked.
