Pierced, chased and embossed with ornate reliefs, beneath a smooth, gilt ground. The front cover depicting a relief of the Adoration of the Shepherds, bordered by a gilt frame. The back cover and spine similarly decorated and depicting Jesus and the Holy Spirit and the Resurrection, respectively. With a gilt textblock and two, ornate clasps on the front.
