The tankard body made of agate and rests in a silver gilt insert. The insert with a round base and wavy border and surmounted by an open work frame of figural putties connected by garlands and scrolls. The hinged lid also from agate and encased in a silver gilt frame with a similar design, terminating in a ball shaped handle from agate. The curved handle ornamented with flowers, scrolls and a lion head. Fully marked, including a French counter mark.
