The clock with a round face ornately decorated with scrolls in relief and with large, enamel painted, Roman numerals beneath a plate inscribed "Augustin Fortin, Paris". Housed in a rectangular case with a round top and a hinged, glass door and sides. The door fronted by a sculpted depiction of Helios The case decorated throughout with tortoise-lining featuring gilt marketer work of scrolling flowers and the corners and finials mounted with ormolu. Raised on four scroll shaped supports and topped by a figural depiction of cupid. Including a shelf similarly decorated. The mechanism signed Augustin Fortin.
