The clock with a round face ornately decorated with scrolls in relief and with large, enamel painted, Roman numerals. Housed in a rectangular case with a rounded top and a hinged, glass door and sides. The door fronted by a sculpted depiction of Helios. The case decorated throughout with tortoiseshell veneer featuring gilt marketer work of rocaille and the corners and finials mounted with ormolu, with each upper corner terminating in a sculpted depictions of female torsos. Raised on four supports designed as sculpted horses and topped by a trapezoid finial adorned with ormolu designed as vases and rocaille on each corner and terminating in a figural depiction of Athena. Set on a large console with a similar design.
