A funerary mask carved of wood and painted in cinnabar red, white and black. The mask was used as a false head on a funerary bundle representing the head of the deceased. A new identity was given to the deceased individual so that he would be recognized in the afterworld as a deity or a mythical ancestor of his tribe.
