Jan Rauchwerger (1942-). Born in Bairam-Ali, Turkmenistan in 1942. Immigrated to Israel in 1973. Studies: 1954-1961: Art School, Kiev; 1964-1968: Polygraphic Institute, Moscow; 1965-1973: studied painting with Wladimir Wisberg, Moscow. Prizes: 1984: Discount Bank Prize, The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; 1986: Oscar Hendler Prize, Kibbutz Lohamei-Hageta'ot; 1998: Meir Dizengoff Prize for Painting, Tel Aviv Municipality.
