notes: “Dean, the rebellious youth, turned motorcycling into a profession of mythical nature. Shortly after this good-looking youth understood these myths may indeed live forever, but they don’t actually exist. He died in an accident. What does the red-blooded hunk Dean, do in his short lifetime? He spent much of his time being extremely moody and vulnerable. The death of the melancholic youngster left American youth sorrowfully stunned. They refused to internalize the trauma. After all, Dean embodied their own dreams of anarchy dipped in a sappy kind of romanticism. The conscience of America died of an overdose of social justice and a wrecked motorcycle”.
