Sima Slonim (191-1999), Painter. Born in Jaffa, Israel in 1999. Studies: 1934 with Litvinowsky and Moshe Mokady; 1935-36 Grande Chaumiere, Paris; teaching in London. Teaching: 1937-38 in High School; 1962 Technion, Haifa; 1964 Oranim and Ein Hod Workshops. Prizes: 1942, 1962 Dizengoff Prize; 195, 1955 Herman Struck Prize, Haifa; 1959 Council for Art, Haifa; 1983 Negev Prize, Yerucham. Was friendly with Soutine and Joseph Hecht, print-maker. A founder of Artists’ Village, Ein Hod. Died 1999.
